Making the nutritious, sustainable and uniquely Nordic grain more available around the world.
Quality is in the details.
Oats have been a dietary staple in Nordic culture for as long as we can remember, with the knowledge of how to cultivate and harvest the finest oats passed on from generation to generation. Over time, we have learned how to make the best use of our unique Nordic conditions and climate, constantly refining our methods every step of the way.
Nordic Oats is a cooperation consisting of some 20 Finnish and Swedish member companies, with the core mission to promote the uniqueness of Nordic oats internationally. As more and more people around the world are starting to see the many benefits of this sustainable and nutritious grain, our belief firmly stays the same – when it comes to making the finest oats, quality truly is in the details.
Why Nordic Oats?
Unique conditions & climate
With its ideal temperatures and long summer days, coupled with its clean water, air and soil, the Nordics have the ideal climate for producing oats of the highest quality.
Sustainable farming & food safety
High hygienic standards and low levels of pesticides and fertilizers – Nordic farming is characterized by having one of the world’s most sustainable agriculture practices, as well as one of the strictest when it comes to food safety.
Health & nutrition
Healthy diets have long been a tradition in the Nordics. The inherently nutritious oats – rich in fibers, protein and beta-glucans – have always been a cornerstone of that tradition.
Attractive reputation
With its ever-increasing popularity and recognition as a healthy and nutritional food product with low climate impact, oats and oat-based products are highly attractive on the international export market.
